Ensure the Safety of the Products You Sell for Your Customers & Employees  (you will be directed to otcbeautymagazine.com) You may or may not be aware that you can gain access to information from manufacturers about the products you use and sell. Each manufacturer is required to keep a record on file of the ingredients the product contains, especially the ingredients that are regulated by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA). This record is called the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). You may request the MSDS from a manufacturer because by law they must maintain this information and make it available when asked for it. This is not information that manufacturers advertise, but it is required by the government as a matter of public safety. All of the ingredients do not have to be listed—only those that are regulated by OSHA and considered to be a possible danger for fires, allergies, or can be dangerous when mixed with other chemicals or medications.
